Synde Korman of Cemetery Cat Designs has created a line of handmade jewelry that uses nazars like the one Rose wears in the book. Synde also creates items that are inspired by Vampire Academy themes, such as characters and the magical elements. Synde uses real gemstone beads and silver in all of her work. She's also a friend of Richelle's, and all of these pieces are authorized by Richelle.

Given to Rose as a sign of love and protection from her unknown Turkish father, the nazar or "evil eye" has been used for centuries as a defensive charm against evils in the Middle East. Here, authentic nazars from Turkey are interwoven with silver and gemstones to symbolize the people and images of the Vampire Academy series.
